Congratulations are due to Northern Adjusters’ Mike Neroda and Joshua Hardy for receiving their Certified Insurance Appraiser (CIA) and Certified Insurance Umpire (CIU) designations from the National Association of Independent Insurance Adjusters (NAIIA). The certification is in partnership with the Society of Registered Professional Adjusters. Mike and Joshua were awarded their certificates in early October after completing the training.
Certification required training in the appraisal process and in the current state laws governing that process. A significant part of the training was focused around how the legal climate has addressed various issues surrounding the appraisal process. Training for the CIA and CIU designations is state specific and is part of NAIIA’s regional conferences. Mike and Joshua received their training in Las Vegas, Nevada from Kevin Hromas, JD, RPA, PLCS, CPIU, owner and CEO of the Houston-based Kevin Hromas & Associates.
By completing the training and receiving their certificates of designation, Mike and Joshua have shown their dedication to the communities and property owners Northern Adjusters serves. With their expanded understanding of the current legalities and issues surrounding appraisals in the property and casualty area, Mike and Joshua are in a better position to serve our clients through knowledge and experience.

Our relationship with the NAIIA is truly beneficial to us. The nationwide organization is made up of 250 independently-owned property and casualty claims adjusting companies like us. Through the support of this organization and its members, Northern Adjusters can continue delivering premium claim services for Alaska. The NAIIA is also an incredible resource for continuing education as Mike and Joshua recently proved.
